Lava Agni 4 Introduction

Design and Display

Lava has crafted the Agni 4 with premium materials that rival flagship smartphones. The device features an aluminum alloy frame with matte AG glass back panel that resists fingerprints while providing excellent grip. The build quality feels substantial at 208 grams with dimensions of 160.7 x 75.3 x 8.6mm. The phone comes in two sophisticated color options: Phantom Black and Lunar Mist. Lava has included IP64 dust and water resistance rating which protects against splashes and light rain. The redesigned camera module draws inspiration from modern flagship designs while maintaining a clean aesthetic.

The display represents one of the Agni 4’s strongest features. The 6.67-inch AMOLED panel delivers 1.5K resolution at 1220 x 2712 pixels with 446ppi density. The screen supports 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming experiences. Peak brightness reaches an impressive 2400 nits making outdoor visibility excellent. The 10-bit color panel displays over 1 billion colors with HDR10+ support for enhanced dynamic range. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 provides protection against scratches and drops. The display also features 1920Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain during extended use.

Performance, Software and AI

The MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset powers the Lava Agni 4 with advanced 4nm architecture. The octa-core processor includes one Cortex-A715 core at 3.35GHz, three Cortex-A715 cores at 3.20GHz and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores at 2.20GHz. The Mali G615-MC6 GPU handles graphics intensive tasks and gaming. Benchmark scores show impressive performance with over 1.4 million points in AnTuTu v10. The device includes 8GB LPDDR5X RAM with additional virtual RAM expansion up to 16GB. Storage comes as 256GB UFS 4.0 providing fast read and write speeds for app loading and file transfers.

Lava has implemented a 4300mm² vapor chamber cooling system to maintain performance during extended gaming sessions. The system prevents thermal throttling and keeps temperatures under control. Gaming performance supports BGMI at 60 FPS on smooth graphics and Call of Duty Mobile at 90 FPS on lower presets. Heavy games like Genshin Impact run at 45-60 FPS with occasional frame drops during intensive scenes. The Game Booster mode optimizes performance for different gaming scenarios.

The software experience runs on Android 15 with Lava’s clean interface approach. The company promises three major Android upgrades and four years of security patches. The standout feature is Vayu AI which includes multiple AI agents for different tasks. The AI Math Teacher and English Teacher help with educational queries. AI Photo Editor and Image Generator assist with creative tasks. AI Call Summary provides automatic transcription of phone calls. The system also includes Circle to Search functionality and a unique AI dog mascot that responds to user queries conversationally.

Lava Agni 4 Camera

The dual camera system features a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture and optical image stabilization. The Sony sensor measures 1/1.55-inch with 1.0µm pixels and supports PDAF for fast focusing. The secondary camera is an 8MP ultrawide lens with 112-degree field of view for landscape and group photography. Both rear cameras support 4K video recording at 60fps which is rare in this price segment. The camera interface includes AI scene detection, portrait mode, night mode and professional controls for manual photography.

The front camera matches the rear with another 50MP sensor capable of 4K 60fps recording. This makes the Agni 4 excellent for vlogging and high-quality video calls. The selfie camera includes electronic image stabilization and various beauty modes. Camera performance in daylight produces sharp images with good dynamic range and natural color reproduction. Low light photography shows some noise but remains usable with night mode enhancement. Portrait mode creates pleasing bokeh effects with accurate edge detection. The ultrawide camera offers different perspective options though with some color variation compared to the main sensor.

Battery and Other Features

The 5000mAh Li-Po battery provides all-day usage with the efficient Dimensity 8350 chipset. Real-world usage includes 6-7 hours of screen-on time with mixed usage patterns. The 66W fast charging system can charge the device from 0-50% in 19 minutes and 0-100% in approximately 51 minutes. The charger comes included in the box along with a transparent protective case. Battery optimization features include adaptive charging and power saving modes for extended usage when needed.

Additional features include an in-display optical fingerprint sensor for secure biometric authentication. The phone supports dual Nano-SIM cards with 5G connectivity across multiple bands. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C 3.2 with OTG support and an IR blaster for remote control functionality. The device includes stereo speakers for enhanced audio experience though they could be better tuned. An FM radio is included for traditional broadcast listening. The phone lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack but supports USB-C audio and wireless Bluetooth options. Additionally, it doesn’t have built-in NFC support.
